Cheesy Plastic Flowers

That is how the EBay seller described the sweet bunch of flowers on top of this little wicker tote. Okay, they may be cheesy, but I adore them! They are something my grandma would have had in her house somewhere so I'm drawn to their "cheesiness". I think this is the cutest little purse/tote. Wouldn't it be fun to pack your lunch in to take to work? I don't have a job outside of being a stay-at-home mom, but if I did....don't you think I'd be the envy of every woman there? If I was brave enough, I'd use it as my purse.

I tried a Martha Stewart recipe for Raspberry-Almond Blondies. Turned out a bit dry and a tad too tart for me. I should have taken it out sooner and sprinkled more sugar on top, or something.
I've started collecting a few pieces of this green apple blossom depression glass. Love it! My mom bought me a gorgeous set of vintage French Haviland Limoges china at Christmas time and these will coordinate perfectly! I'll show them to you sometime. They're still wrapped in tissue paper until I find a proper place to display them or clean out the built-in hutch that's full of other dishes.

We took the little ones to meet their teacher's today. School starts next week! We also have a sophomore in the house. You know what that means - driving! YIKES!

Enjoy the last holiday weekend of the summer!

That purse is darling! It would make a cute lunch box, but glad you get to stay home and don't have to work. I can't wait to see your Limoges china, sounds beautiful. You have a wonderful holiday weekend too! Twyla

I would carry that little basket as a purse or a lunch box and I too love the "cheesy" flowers.

Your plates are really pretty with your beautiful tablecloth.

The little basket reminds me of an Eastery type purse. So cute!!

Driving...oh, boy! It's nice in a way because they can run errands for you, but the mom instinct of worrying like crazy definitely comes out!!

We start school next week too. I hope your kids have fun!

Oh, I think the basket is SO sweet! And the dessert you made looks so pretty on the green plate!

My mother-in-law has green depression glass, and whenever I see it, I think of her! It's so pretty...

And wow! One of your kids will be driving! I would be apprehensive, too! Okay, I admit it, I'd be a total wreck, and hope I don't ever EVER have to sit in the passenger seat until they have their license...nice thought, though not very realistic! :)

Have a great weekend!

I too love the cheesy little plastic flowers on that darling little purse. It would be very cute to pack a lunch in. In fact, I would pack a lunch for one and go to a pretty park, have a picnic for one before summer is over.

Hey, I like that idea so much I'm going to do that even without the pretty purse.

Hugs,
Joanne

I would absolutely use it as a purse for a day out of the house, or take it to the office as a lunch bag IF it were mine! Just adorable!!

Anita, my grandma would have had this too! The beautiful things she created with plastic flowers!!! Thanks for the good memories and I'm glad that you purchased that great purse. Food is always better with lots of suger (my nana would have agreed to that too!)

With your wonderful color combos, that green depression glass will look right at home. After I found an old box of green princess depression glass in my grandfather's basement, I've been a collector, too, and I especially enjoy using these airy plates all summer long.
