Be still, my heart. . . . .
If I could truly indulge myself right now, this would be what I'd buy. Isn't it grand? I collect gingerbread items over the holidays (it's the only time I can seem to find them). I fell head over heels in love with this. I just know it would look beautiful perched on our ginormous fireplace mantel. It's the perfect piece and properly proportioned for it! In fact, I think I'd be tempted to leave it up year round.
Sorry for the HUGE delay in posting here on my little ol' blog. It's been sorely, sadly neglected. I want to thank the sweet ladies who have commented and emailed me to encourage me to keep it going. THANK YOU in a huge way! You have no idea how uplifting those comments/emails were.
I made a little comment on someones blog that it's hard to keep going sometimes and I was tempted to just delete this little blog. But I hate to say goodbye and can't imagine just zapping all of my hard work away in just an instant. I know I'd come to regret it. So here I am, almost two months without a single peep from me. I felt fresh out of blogging ideas. Half the time here in WA, the lighting is too yuck to take a decent picture. I also feel like my decorating style has taken a turn. A good turn, but a turn nonetheless. And at the same time, my inner decorating self feels frustrated that it's being caged up in a dark, dreary old craftsman home (don't get me wrong, I like old and craftsman - just not dark) when it wants to lighten up and cheer up so terribly much. We would, but it's not ours to do that with - we're only renting till we find our dream place.
I hope I didn't lose every single one of my dear readers. . . . .
On a much happier note -
Welcome Autumn!

I was just surfing around and came across your sweet blog! I'm sure you didn't lose any readers, but you gained a new one!
I also love to bake, do crafts, and there's plenty of old craftsman houses in the adjoining neighborhoods that I'm tempted to knock on the doors too.
Hope you don't mind me dropping by every so often! :-D
Glad to see you posting! I so know what you mean. I feel like I'm always evolving and styles are running into each other. Your pics always look bright and cheerful to me. I always enjoy your post, so please keep posting!
I love those gingerbread houses. They went straight on my wish list. They'll probably stay there but oh well!
I'm happy to see you back.
Oh that is TRULY adorable....I can't imagine having the time to make it that perfect, but it is a masterpiece!
Just discovered your blog from Tracey's...but I encourage you to keep it up....you are gifted!
I know how you feel. Sometimes it feels like extra work to keep up with a blog. I think you (and me) should do it to make us happy, not as an obligation. I do really love your blog!
So glad you updated!
Hilda
Well, I know that I was very happy to see a new post from you! Welcome back - and don't be such a stranger - because you ARE missed!
You didn't lose me! I've been checking every few days for a post and I was rewarded today!!!!! Thanks for the post to let us know how you are doing. The gingerbread house is spectacular, I think you should get it(wink). I can't wait to see your new decorating style and don't worry about the pictures, we're not all perfectionests here. Have a great day! Twyla
I have your blog under my Favorites list and I was checking faithfully waiting for you to post!

Maybe Santa will hear you and bring the Ginger Bread House to you for Christmas! Wouldn't that look awesome awaiting you under the tree...THEN you can put it on the mantle to enjoy the rest of the year!
I'm glad you posted...I was beginning to think that you were MIA...but hey, I know how that goes...I am border-line MIA most of the time!
Hey, just wanted you to know that in 10 months my son and his wife are going to be moving to the Great Northwest...they will be moving to the Seattle area...probably not right in Seattle but a community close by. My DIL is doing her final rotation of med school somewhere there...so they have decided to pack up and move there for not only an adventure...but my son is a chef and he is so excited to move somewhere he can work and prepare fresh daily foods. He currently works in a 5 star restaurant here in Texas and really has learned a lot...but he knows moving to another region of the U.S. is going to be great for his career...so they chose your neck of the woods....I'll let you know more when I learn where they are moving...I'm sad to see them go...but excited for them and their new adventure.
Blessings...
Teresa

Wow, that is beautiful! I sort of wish I didn't see this because I'm going to be thinking about it too much!
I'm missing all the good light to take photos in now that it's dark when I get home from work. I've also been struggling about what to blog about too so I can relate!
Hi. I came over from Queen of Good Intentions and now I want a gingerbread house too!
